Molecular diversity analysis for pod shattering using SSRs markers in Mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek)

Abstract: Seventy six genotypes were used to study the molecular diversity analysis for pod shattering in mungbean. The binary data of 76 mungbean germplasm used to generate dendrogram using 14 SSR markers and perform cluster analysis using the UPGMA clustering method. Microsatellite primer pairs used in the current study originated from mungbean, adzuki bean, soybean and cowpea. PIC value of 14 markers ranged from 0 (GMES4232 and CEDG012) to 0.97 (GMES0969) with average of 0.35. Among the SSR markers, marker originated from soybean showed the maximum PIC value among the genotypes studied.
