Effect of brassinosteroids on protein profiling of salinity succeptible and resistance cultivars of groundnut under salinity stress

Devanshi Trivedi, Patel Illa

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) belongrnto Leguminaceae family is a nutritious legume for human diet. It is anrnimportant oil seed crop grown in India. Several abiotic stresses includingrnsalinity alter the growth and development of this sensitive crop.In the presentrninvestigation Leaf protein content reduced in under salinity treatment at therndifferent growth stages of groundnut but when applied with brassinosteroids thernprotein content increased. Maximum protein content of leaf was reported in allrnthe treatments over control at fruiting stage. Proteins Analysis of salinity resistancrnand succeptiable varieties of groundnut was done by Polyacrylamide GelrnElectrophoresis (PAGE) method in controle and all treatments seeds afterrnharveting stage. Application of Brassinosteroids induced the synthesis of newrnresistant protein and increased the intensity of the original protein bands andrncaused the appearance of additional new bands under the salinity condition.
