Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Evaluation of Novel Isonicotinic Acid Hydrazide Derivatives

Some Novel biologically active Isonicotinic acid hydrazide derivatives substituted with benzaldehydes were synthesized and the same were characterized by ATIR and 1H-NMR spectral analysis. The compounds were subjected to antimicrobial screening (in vitro) and the results were compared with the standards. The in-vivo antibacterial evaluation revealed that the N-(benzenesulfonyl)-N'-[(5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)methylidene]pyridine-4-carbohydrazide(GM-I) substituted Isonicotinic acid hydrazide derivatives showed promising activity.
